ABOUT ME
Carmen Scoggins
Hi! I'm Carmen Scoggins and I teach Spanish at Watauga High School in beautiful Boone, North Carolina where I am also an adjunct Spanish and Foreign Language Methodology instructor at Appalachian State University. I earned a BS and MA in Spanish Education from Appalachian State and am a National Board Certified Teacher. I am an active member of ACTFL, SCOLT, and FLANC. I am a past president of FLANC and currently serves on the SCOLT board as the Scholarship Director and president-elect.
In 2007 I was FLANC’s Teacher of the Year and in 2008 I received the SCOLT Teacher of the Year honor. I have presented at the state, regional, and national levels on integrating technology into the World Language classroom and personalizing the language-learning experience. I am passionate about getting future World Language teachers involved in the profession. I live in Boone, North Carolina and am in her 23rd year of education.
